05/20/10 Car manufacturer Renault is currently providing its own Formula 1 team and the Red Bull Racing team with its powerful F1 engines this season. In 2011 though the team could end up supplying even more teams that the current two teams in Formula 1.

The Renault powered Red Bull team currently leads both the drivers' and constructors' championship. According to Italian magazine Autosprint Renault is currently in talks with both Lotus and Williams to supply them with customer engines in 2011.

Renault's head of engine operations Remi Taffin confirmed to Autosport this week Renault certainly is able to supply more teams. "We don't know which teams we will be supplying next year," Taffin said. "We certainly have got the capacity to supply more than the two teams we have been doing this year, it's not a big problem for us. Obviously we have to produce a few more engines and get some more people to do the job. As far as getting an engine ready and supplying two teams, it's then not a big problem to do so for three or four teams with an extra effort."

Lotus and Williams are currently racing in Formula 1 with Cosworth engines.
