Are NASCAR fans getting tired of those boring oval races? NBC earned a 1.99 overnight rating for yesterday's Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Bank Of America Roval 400 at Charlotte, up 10% versus last year's race.

This is one of the first, if not the first, natural ratings increases for a Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series race this year. Everyone knows NASCAR fans love crashes and the Roval produced plenty of those.
