R.I. Casino Owner Twin River To Merge With Dover Downs

Twin River Worldwide Holdings, owner of two Rhode Island casinos, has "entered into a merger agreement" with Delaware-based Dover Downs Gaming & Entertainment.

The deal will make Twin River a "publicly traded company with gaming and entertainment holdings throughout" the U.S. The merger also would "provide a physical presence for Twin River in the Mid-Atlantic region."

Dover Downs operates its namesake hotel/casino and horse racing track, Dover Downs Raceway. PROVIDENCE JOURNAL
