|40 drivers will take the green flag for the 2018 Daytona 500|
NASCAR has released the entry list for next Sunday's season-opening Daytona 500, with 40 cars entered for the first race of the 2018 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series.
36 of the drivers entered are with Chartered teams, meaning they are automatically qualified for the event. With 40 starting spots available and only 40 entries, all drivers entered are guaranteed to the make the race.
The two front-row starting spots will be determined in this Sunday's qualifying sessions, while the rest of the race lineup will be set by the finishing order of the two Can-Am Duel races on Thursday, Feb. 15.
