Lexus to make track debut

UPDATE We are downgrading this rumor to 'speculation.' Word on the street is that Lexus may have decided to cancel its ALMS GT2 program. Why you ask? We're not certain yet but early speculation is that the France Family put pressure on Lexus (through parent company Toyota) that they had better play only in the France family sandbox (NASCAR and Grand-Am) or they can take their toys and go….well pound sand. Other speculation is that they will instead do an ALMS LMP2 program to go head-to-head against arch-rival Acura.

07/18/06 After having announcing an ALMS GT2 program some time ago, there has been no word on when Lexus will enter ALMS. However, AutoRacing1.com sources tell us the Lexus IS350 will make it to the track soon.
