Kyle Larson Fastest In Opening Charlotte Cup Practice

Kyle Larson led Friday's opening practice session for Sunday's Bank of America 500 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series race at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

Larson clocked the fastest lap with a speed of 192.082 mph in the no. 42 Chevrolet to lead the field. Ryan Newman – who was eliminated from the playoffs after last weekend's race at Dover – was second fastest at 191.442 mph. Playoff contenders Kevin Harvick (191.225 mph), Denny Hamlin (191.137) and Chase Elliott (191.090) rounded out the top five.
