Only 50,000 may attend 2006 USGP

Tony George said his staff is still assessing the merit of staging an F-1 race in 2006. He said he expects the sport's hard-core fans to return. George put that number at about half of the 100,000 people who attended this year's race.

"I don't have a great deal of faith as we sit here today," he said about the more casual fans. "But we have an agreement (with Formula One Management) to have a race and until we feel compelled to try to change that, it's certainly our preference to have it." Indy Star
