IndyCar Series to add On-Board Camera Positions For ’18 Season

Part of IndyCar's universal bodywork package planned for '18 "will include an increase in on-board camera positions for use by the series' broadcasters and digital promotions team."

IMS Productions will "outfit each car with a new nose and rear attenuator camera to complement the current overhead and rearview mirror cameras" that have been in use since '12.

IndyCar and IMSP will work on finding the best camera positions "before locking them into place" prior to wide scale body panel production beginning. Another advancement IMSP President Robby Greene has in mind for '18, "but might take a little while to implement, is the use of the new HD helmet camera with every driver." RACER.com
