Rossi tops opening IndyCar practice at Road America

American Alexander Rossi turned the fastest lap in opening practice for the Kohler Grand Prix at Road America Friday morning. Rossi's fast lap in his Andretti NAPA Honda of 1m43.329s was 0.23 sec faster than Penske-Chevy driver Simon Pagenaud.
Will Power, Josef Newgarden and Scott Dixon rounded out the top-5.
The session ended under red when Ryan Hunter-Reay beached his #28 Andretti DHL Honda in the pea gravel outside Turn 14 and had to be towed out.
There were three Chevys and two Hondas in the top-5.
Mexican Esteban Gutierrex, subbing for the injured Sebastien Bourdais in the #18 Dale Coyne Honda was 19th quick 2.3 sec. off the pace.
Mercedes DTM driver Robert Wickens frpm Canada, subbing for Mikhail Aleshin this morning, was 20th quick also 2.3 sec off the pace.
