Mexican GP delayed until 2007

According to a report on Autosport-Atlas, The planned return of the Mexican Grand Prix to the Formula One calendar now looks certain to be postponed until 2007 following delays in the construction of the country's new track. Gabriela Rodriguez, the minister for tourism for the Quintana Roo region, said: "There have been problems, but the plans will now go ahead and for sure we will be ready for the 2007 season." The delay in beginning the work on the new track is understood to have been related to officials purchasing the necessary amount of land around the circuit. This issue has now been resolved and work is due to begin in July.
