Champ Car’s China circuit revealed

According to our sources, Champ Car will use the significantly revised and upgraded Goldenport natural terrain road course in Beijing, China. The photos below show the condition of the track as it existed a couple of years ago. The track diagram shown (right) will change with lengthening slated to the east (right) in the track diagram photo. Many new grandstands will be erected as well to bring seating capacity up to at least 100,000. Design plans are still being worked on. While Goldenport won't be as grandiose as Shanghai's F1 circuit, it will be a lot better than what you see in these photos. We hear some government officials in Shanghai are going to lose their jobs because so much money was spent on the facility it is drowning in red ink.
