Champ Car signs wireless deal for fans

Story to follow on hot news page. 01/25/05 Rumor has it that the Champ Car World Series has signed a three-year agreement with Digital Orchid to provide real-time racing information to fans through wireless technology. The deal will be announced later today or tomorrow. Digital Orchid has created Champ Car Everywhere, which will provide real-time Champ Car information to fans via wireless applications. The service will provide video and audio from the racetrack as well as updated leaderboards, standings, schedules, driver information and Champ Car-themed products such as ring tones and wallpaper. Digital Orchid is a San Diego-based private company that has developed similar technologies for NASCAR and the NHL. The deal includes multiple options to extend. Financial terms were not disclosed.
