Albers to test for Jordan

UPDATE This rumor is now 'fact.' Christijan Albers visited Jordan Grand Prix’s Silverstone factory this week for a seat fitting in preparation for a test with the team on December 1st at Jerez. In September, Albers postponed a scheduled test with the squad in order to focus on his DTM championship battle.

The 25-year-old Dutchman will begin Jordan’s first test session since the end of the 2004 season and the team will test for an additional three days in Jerez until December 4th with an interim chassis and 2004 specification Cosworth engines. The team will announce who is driving on the remaining test days shortly.

“Christijan is a quick and committed up-and-coming talent, as we’ve seen in German F3 and this year in DTM," said Eddie Jordan. "We have a mutual sponsor in Trust so we have been watching his career with interest. I have wanted to test him for some time so I am glad that the opportunity has finally come – it’s an exciting time for all of us." Toyota will power the Jordan Ford team in the championship next season and the team are currently working on a chassis to house the Toyota powerplant.
