Stewart to drive Little 500 at Anderson

Tony Stewart said he was retiring from NASCAR, not from all forms of racing.

The two-time Brickyard 400 winner from Columbus native is scheduled to drive in the Pay Less Little 500 sprint car race at Anderson Motor Speedway on May 27, the night before the Indianapolis 500, according to a news release from Hoffman Auto Racing.

Stewart, 45, was the U.S. Auto Club's first Triple Crown champ, winning three national short-track racing titles in 1995. He went to win an IndyCar title and three NASCAR Cup titles.

"I’m thrilled to make my Little 500 debut with Hoffman Auto Racing," Stewart said in the news release. “It’s a privilege to have the opportunity to compete in such a historic race with this team."

The Hoffman team won last year's Little 500 with Kody Swanson driving.
