Video: Resta proud of new Ferrari

Ferrari Chief designer Simone Resta said he regarded the SF16-H as one of the most beautiful cars the team has produced during its years in the sport.

Speaking at the launch of the SF16-H on Friday, Resta revealed that he was very proud of this product and confident that it would meet expectations when the season started.

"It's a difficult question. I can say that this F1 Car is one of the most beautiful Ferrari ever," said Resta.

One of the key aspects with this Ferrari will be the innovation in the design concepts, which all form a part of the technical overhaul ahead of the 2016 campaign.

"We have something quite different – this [nose] level is higher so the air flows different to last year. That is very important because it has a positive impact on aerodynamics," added Resta.

"Also, after four years of pull-rod, we have changed and now we have front suspension with push-rod. The weight is better and it is a step forwards compared to last year and the previous models.

"Another important part are the sidepods. The radiators are different – and we have tried to take advantage with the cooling systems."

Among the other aspects which have been addressed ahead of this season are combustion, inlet aspiration and turbo. The technical team also revealed that the car was "tighter and narrower" than the 2015 product, with emphasis again being placed on aerodynamics.
