Austin City Council Signs Off On COTA Incentives

COTA lost part of their $25M per year in state funding

A split Austin City Council approved two measures Thursday "that allow the Circuit of The America's racetrack and event venue to apply for state special events incentives."

Officials with COTA "had earlier asked the Texas Major Events Reimbursement Program for economic incentives to host two other events: Moto GP motorcycle races and the Summer X Games." In order to qualify for the state funding, COTA "needed the approval of Austin City Council" Austin BUSINESS JOURNAL
