Harvick loses engine; to start from rear

Kevin Harvick

Quick note from Atlanta.

2014 NASCAR Sprint Cup Champion Kevin Harvick, who qualified second for today's Folds of Honor QuikTrip 500 at Atlanta Motor Speedway, lost his engine in final practice Saturday. Thus, the #4 Jimmy John's/Budweiser Chevrolet will be required to start today's race from the back of the field.

Due to a rather bizarre qualifying session Friday, in which 13 drivers were unable to turn laps due to an inability to get through inspection, Harvick will join an array of fast drivers including Jimmie Johnson, Jeff Gordon and Matt Kenseth starting at the back of the field in today's race.
