Lloyd driven by dream to follow road to IndyCar

Coming from the same Australian home town as IndyCar champion Will Power is bound to do Jordan Lloyd no harm as he chases his dream of racing in the popular open-wheel series in the United States.

Lloyd said he had spoken with Power about racing and that the IndyCar powerhouse was a great source of support.

Ben Gersekowski is another Toowoomba driver hoping to break into the IndyCar Series in coming years so who knows, maybe there could be three drivers from the Garden City on the grid at the famous Indianapolis 500 in the near future.

Some people like opening presents or devouring cake on their birthday, but Jordan Lloyd was happy to be behind the wheel chasing his dreams.

Lloyd turned 19 on December 9 and celebrated the milestone in the United States as he completed a two-day test in a bid to get a little closer to his goal of racing in the IndyCar Series.

The Cotswold Hills driver tested at Indianapolis with the John Cummiskey Racing team last week as he chased a spot on the grid for next year's USF2000 series in the US.

That series is a lead-in category for IndyCar as hopeful drivers look to rise through the ranks on the Road to Indy pathway.

Lloyd was happy with the test and was awaiting feedback from the JCR team.

He would love a glowing report and an invitation to drive for them next year.
