Formula E postpones Malaysian round

The Malaysian round of the inaugural Formula E campaign has been postponed by five weeks.

The event, to be staged in the city of Putrajaya, was originally slated for October 18, but it has been pushed back to November 22 following a request from the office of the Prime Minister of Malaysia, Najib Razak.

Due to other commitments, the Prime Minister would not have been able to attend the race on its original date.

"The Prime Minister has been fundamental to the FIA Formula E Championship racing in Malaysia and, following lengthy consultation with the FIA and the local motorsport federation, Formula E has decided to honor the request to reschedule the Putrajaya ePrix," Alejandro Agag, CEO of Formula E, said of the alteration.

Malaysia remains the second round on the 2014/15 Formula E calendar, the rest of which is unchanged.
