With no money to buy an IndyCar ride, Daly to run GP2

Formula One support series, GP2, will open its season this weekend at the Sakhir International Circuit, Bahrain, and American Conor Daly will be on the grid. Daly will join Frenchman, Nathanael Berthon in the Italian based, Lazarus GP team. After six days of preseason testing in Abu Dhabi and Bahrain in March, Daly feels well prepared for the season opener.

"This is one serious roller coaster life for me right now with a lot of air miles across multiple continents, but I am stoked to jump back in the GP2 car. We were consistently fast in the Bahrain testing in March and if we keep working hard, together we can have some serious results this weekend," said Daly.

GP2 will have two Americans in the field with Alexander Rossi also competing for the EQ8 Caterham Team.

Since its inception in 2005 the GP2 Series has firmly established itself on the world stage as one of the premier one-make racing championships in the world. Ten out of twenty-fours drivers of the current Formula One grid got their chance to race at the pinnacle of motorsport after proving their worth in the GP2 Series. GP2 runs a 612 HP Mecachrome V8 naturally aspirated engine matched to a six speed paddle shift gearbox.
