Rolex 24 Hour 1 Update

We’re approaching the end of the first hour in the Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona. By virtue of an early out-of-sequence pit stop Joao Barbosa leads in the #5 Action Express Racing Corvette. Brendon Hartley in the #78 Starworks Riley Dinan is about 8 seconds behind Barbosa, about a half-second ahead of Ozz Negri in the #60 Michael Shank Racing with Curb/Agajanian Riley DP Ford EcoBoost. Like Barbosa, Hartley and Negri pitted early.

When the leaders pit, we expect 2013 IndyCar Series Champion Scott Dixon to inherit the lead in the #02 Chip Ganassi Racing Riley DP Ford EcoBoost. Dixon was able to jump early race leader Alex Gurney by pitting a lap later than the #99 machine.

Jonathan Bomarito leads the GTLM class in the #93 SRT Viper. Pierre Kaffer leads the PC class in the #7 Starworks Motorsports Oreca FLM09 Chevrolet. Jan Heylen leads the GTD class in the #58 Snow Racing Porsche 911 GT America.
