Lower ticket prices for Indian GP, fans skeptical

The 2014 Indian GP will not feature in the F1 calendar, but this year's race tickets were up for sale starting Saturday.

The ticket rates for the race at the Buddh International Circuit that will take place on October 27 range from Rs1,500 to Rs21,000. The race weekend will be from October 25 to 27.

The seats closer to the start-finish line care priced at Rs21,000 for three days and Rs12,000 for Sunday, the race day. The tickets for the upper tier of the 20,000 capacity stand cost Rs15,000 for three-days and Rs10,000 for Sunday.

The race in its inaugural edition saw a crowd of 95,000 people attend but last year there was a huge drop to 65,000.

The tickets are up for sale on the internet and can be booked at www.bookmyshow.com. Tickets are also available from Mercedes-Benz dealers in New Delhi, Noida, Gurgaon, Mumbai, Bangalore, Pune and Chandigarh.
