TSN to broadcast IndyCar races in Canada

TSN and TSN2 deliver full coverage of the 17-race 2011 IZOD IndyCar Series, starting with the Honda Grand Prix of St. Petersburg on Sunday, March 27 at 12:30 p.m. ET live on TSN. The 2011 IZOD IndyCar Series stops in Canada for the Honda Indy Toronto on July 10 and the Edmonton Indy on July 24.

The 2011 IZOD IndyCar Series features an impressive lineup of open-wheel drivers, including Dario Franchitti, IZOD IndyCar Series champion for the past two years, and fan favorites Helio Castroneves and Danica Patrick. The 2011 IZOD IndyCar Series also includes Canadian motorsport greats Paul Tracy from Scarborough, ON and Alex Tagliani from Lachenaie, QC.

Highlighting the 2011 open-wheel racing season, the prestigious Indianapolis 500 will mark its 100th anniversary and runs Sunday, May 30. Considered "The Greatest Spectacle in Racing", the Indy 500 grid is slated to include Tracy, now driving for Dreyer & Reinbold Racing. New this year, up to five qualifying drivers from outside of the series will be invited to challenge open-wheel professionals for a $5 million prize in the season ending IZOD IndyCar World Championship, held at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway on Sunday, October 16.
