Kovalainen: Recovery going well

Heikki Kovalainen says he's on the road to recovery after his final CAT scans revealed he had not suffered serious injury in his RoC crash. Kovalainen's return to the Race of Champions, which he won back in 2002, ended prematurely when he crashed his Audi R8 sportscar in last Sunday's first heat.

The impact knocked the Lotus Racing driver unconscious while his girlfriend and passenger, Catherine Hyde, suffered a hairline fracture of the pelvis and muscle damage.

However, the good news for Kovalainen at least, is that the final brain scans, which took place on Sunday, did not reveal any "problems."

"Recovery going well," the Finn Tweeted.

"Final scans for the head done, no problems and just one more week resting then back to fitness training!"
