No IndyCar for Pedro de la Rosa

Pedro de la Rosa will stay home and pull weeds in his garden for 2011

Pedro de la Rosa insisted that he is not yet thinking of switching to North American open wheel series IndyCar, despite his poor chances of landing a driving job in Formula One next year. The Spanish driver was ousted by BMW Sauber-Ferrari 14 races into the 2010 campaign and has been looking to secure a 2011 race seat with any other team ever since.

“I'm not considering that (IndyCar switch) yet. It's interesting, but – for now – I still think that I can be in F1," said De la Rosa in a recent interview with Spanish newspaper Marca.

Recently, the prospect of seeing De la Rosa inside the cockpit of a HRT F1-built car next season have been slammed by the very owner of the Spanish team, who told the media that as much as he'd want to see his countryman drive for him next year, “without money, there is no place for him."
