Kahne ditching new Dodge engine

After a crankshaft broke last Sunday at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, Richard Petty Motorsports driver Kasey Kahne will use an R5 Dodge engine instead of the newer R6 this weekend at Dover International Speedway. Kahne had been using the R6 for many races since debuting it, ironically, at Dover last May. But the team has had issues with crankshafts, and Kahne's engine expired just 66 laps into the race at New Hampshire, relegating Kahne to a 38th-place finish. Scene Daily
