IMSA statement following Mosport race

"When the last car in the field passed pit in, the Race Director called for pits open in order to give the overall leader, who was the next car, the first chance to pit. The Pit Closed board manager called that he had cars level with him and was unable to signal that the pits were open. While there was confusion on the radio that the pits were actually closed, the Stewards ruled that the pits had opened and that the leader properly was able to pit first.

"The issue regarding penalties assessed to cars 22, 37 and 45, which passed the overall leader, is under review."
