Johnson admits Champ Car’s biggest failing

"To say we have made stars out of all of our drivers is not a correct statement," Champ Car President Steve Johnson told the LA Times. "It's up to us to build these guys into stars."

The problem is when they do build a driver into a star, case in point American AJ Allmendinger, they lose them to another series who is willing to pay them a bigger salary. Without stars Champ Car will never get high TV ratings. Never.
