IRL continues sex-theme based marketing

UPDATE The IRL is not aware of an upcoming Danica Patrick spread in Maxim. The League does have a contest offer for the Fontana race that is a Maxim promotion. They have had a relationship with the magazine for three years and this is part of it. It should be noted that Danica Patrick's sexy photos draped over a car were shot when she was in the Toyota Atlantic series. 07/13/05 Buoyed by the exploitation of Danica Patrick and the resultant rise in TV ratings and attendance, MAXIM (the magazine full of pictures of near-naked sexy women made just for men) and the IndyCar Series have teamed. The IndyCar Series is featured as part of MAXIM Magazine's "Yours For The Taking" promotion. The August 2005 Issue of MAXIM features the promotion, which invites readers to visit maximonline.com and register for a chance to win a VIP trip to the IndyCar Series' season-ending Toyota Indy 400 at California Speedway on Oct. 16. The VIP experience includes hotel, airfare, spending money and the race with you and a friend escorted by 4 Maxim models. The August issue of MAXIM is available on newsstands on July 14.
