Festival events surround Denver GP

Fast cars, Friday Night Fights and live music under the lights. The CENTRIX Financial Grand Prix of Denver presented by PacifiCare today announced its official schedule for its street festival events, which will surround the three days of international auto racing. This year will be the first time the Grand Prix of Denver features events like boxing, a celebrity charity event, and a vintage car show and parade.

“The 2005 Grand Prix of Denver is like no other to date," said Jim Freudenberg, the Grand Prix of Denver general manager. “For instance, race fans will be in awe of the ski jumpers and freestyle motocross athletes, who will perform at track side. Those wanting evening entertainment can enjoy music under the lights on Thursday and Saturday nights. And this is the first time we will host championship boxing during race weekend. This year’s Grand Prix is truly energy unscripted."

Festival activities begin on Wednesday, August 10, and auto racing begins on Friday, August 12.
