Two crashes at Homestead

UPDATE We have learned that Howard was apparently unhurt but may miss the race if his car cannot be repaired in time. A decision will be made Saturday whether he will race Saturday night. The doctors also have to reevaluate is condition because of pain in his right knee.

Dan Wheldon skids down the front straight after hitting the wall in Turn 4

Qualifying is underway here in Homestead and already we have two crashes. Jay Howard lost control in turn 2 on his second warm-up lap and Dan Wheldon did likewise in Turn 4 on his 2nd warm-up lap.

Both cars sustained considerable damage. We know Wheldon is OK. No word on Howard just yet but it took them a lot of time to get him out of the car.
