Rumors and Spy Photo of Mercedes SLS Roadster

A convertible version of the Mercedes-Benz SLS has recently been spotted testing in Scandinavia.

It is rumored that the SLS Roadster will be launched in 2011, at the Frankfurt motor show. It will feature a fully electric fabric roof, similar to the one used on the E-class convertible.

The biggest difference between the SLS coupe and the Roadster will be the removal of the gullwing doors. The engine will remain the same, a 6.2 liter V8 developing 563 HP.

As for the performance figures, we expect the SLS Roadster to be slightly slower from 0-60 mph, due to the additional weight at about 4 seconds. There is no word on pricing as of yet, but it expect it to increase slightly over the hardtop version.
