JEGS Re-ups NASCAR Sprint Cup Contingency Program, Adds Nationwide Series
"Our company philosophy always has been to support the racers first," said John Coughlin, JEGS Vice President. "By offering a contingency program to all the Sprint Cup and Nationwide drivers we can reach the most teams and be seen by more of our customers across the board than any individual sponsorship.
"My three brothers and I are drag racers but we're fans of all different kinds of motorsports and we love NASCAR racing as much as anyone. Our customers also are fans or in some cases are involved themselves in all the different levels of NASCAR racing so it was a natural move for us to get involved. We couldn't be happier with the response we've gotten from NASCAR nation. Like the NHRA, NASCAR has a very loyal following that supports the sponsors that support the sport."
JEGS stickers began showing up on NASCAR racecars as soon as its initial contingency program was announced before the 2007 season. Since then, several drivers have carried the familiar yellow-and-black JEGS logo to winner's circles from Daytona to Sonoma.
"It's great to go to NASCAR Sprint Cup races and have the drivers, crewmen, and team owners come up and say 'thanks' for being a part of their sport," Coughlin said. "Now we can add in the Nationwide teams as well and that's exciting.
"Nationwide Insurance in based right near here in Columbus, Ohio, and although they're a publicly-traded entity, they're very much a family-oriented business just like we are at JEGS Mail Order. There's a lot of synergy between our companies and hopefully this new deal only strengthens our relationship with Nationwide and the drivers themselves. (press release)
