Mario Andretti and AJ Foyt race to the finish.

With 3 laps to go Foyt, leading, wears out his brakes and taps the wall. Andretti passes him and the two race nose to tail to the finish.

It was Andretti’s first Champ Car win on the dirt and it would help propel him to the 1966 IndyCar championship, his second in a row.
