McLaren F1 salivating over putting Mercedes engines in their cars for 2021

McLaren and Mercedes were partners from 1995 to 2014. Three drivers’ and one constructors’ championship were won by McLaren during this period. Will it happen again?

Next year McLaren is going to switch from Renault engines to Mercedes engines, and, according to team boss Zak Brown, he likes what he sees already.

“It’s just a customer relationship. The team is really looking forward to working with Mercedes,” Brown explains to Motorsport-Total.com.

“There are many people on both sides who have worked together to win championships and races. So there are many similarities. Everything I’ve heard so far (from his team) shows how well prepared Mercedes is to work with their customers. Their communication, their timing is just a big well-oiled machine.

“I’m only getting feedback from the technical team that the cooperation is going well and smoothly and that they are extremely happy. As we design the car, we communicate a lot. And everything I hear is positive so far,” concludes Brown.
