The Chip Ganassi Honda IndyCar team is conducting a private test at Laguna Seca in Monterey, California today.
So far, Alex Palou (pictured above) is fastest among Ganassi’s four drivers with a time of 1m11.82s in the #10 NTT sponsored car. Palou is new to the team, but that isn’t slowing him down one bit.
Marcus Ericsson, Scott Dixon and Jimmie Johnson follow in that order.
Some 2-seconds off the pace, Johnson continues to struggle to get the most time out of an IndyCar. Coming from lumbering stock cars he drove all his career, with the engine in front of him, adapting to the much faster rear-engine IndyCars is proving to be a challenge for the 7-time NASCAR Cup champion.
Johnson posted the video below, yesterday, as he flew into Monterey.
