Updated Indy 500 Odds: Dixon leads Newgarden
Here is an updated look at odds following Saturday’s GMR Grand Prix.
Scott Dixon remains the Indy 500 at +500, shorter than his +600 price tag back on May 3.
Josef Newgarden has leapfrogged Alexander Rossi, with the Team Penske driver now next on the board at +700.
Interestingly, Rossi, who won the 2016 Indy 500 and is seemingly a contender in the “Greatest Spectacle in Racing” every year, has fallen to +1000 following his slow start to the 2021 IndyCar season.

Last year Rossi contended for the race lead for the first half of the race before plastering his #27 Andretti Honda into the outside wall. After lucking into his win in 2016 by saving fuel and skipping a pit stop, it’s been all downhill for the Californian.
Sandwiched between Newgarden and Rossi are Pato O’Ward at +800 and Will Power, the 2018 Indy 500 winner, at +900.
