MotoGP: Vinales tops first practice on return to Mugello
As bright sunshine drenched the circuit, Maverick Viñales topped practice 1 for the Gran Premio d’Italia Oakley with a 1m46.593s lap on his Yamaha at the Mugello circuit in Tuscany, Italy
The Spaniard led Johann Zarco by 0.209s. After an early off-track excursion, Team Suzuki Ecstar’s Alex Rins rounded out the top three.
Reigning World Champion Joan Mir and Italy’s Franco Morbidelli completed the first top five of the weekend as the riders returned to Mugello after its absence in 2020 due to Covid.
