IndyCar: Palou tops GP of Portland opening practice

First he crashed, brought out a red flag, then Alex Palou recovered in the #10 Ganassi Racing Honda and turned the fastest lap in practice 1 for the Grand Prix of Portland.

His lap of 58.74s nipped the #06 Meyer Shank Racing Honda of 4-time Indy 500 winner Helio Castroneves by just 0.1026s.

Jack Harvey, in the #60 Meyer Shank Honda was right behind his teammate with an almost identical lap time, 0.1063s behind Palou.

Pato O’Ward and Josef Newgarden rounded out the top-5.
