Rumor: Bourdais to switch from IndyCar to IMSA fulltime

Rumor has it that Sebastien Bourdais is giving up on IndyCar where money is hard to come by, and will switch to the Chip Ganassi Racing #01 Cadillac in IMSA full-time in 2022.

IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar series sources have told the IndyStar in recent days that the 42-year-old veteran is in the final stages of securing a ride with Chip Ganassi Racing’s Cadillac DPi program for the full 2022 season.

Bourdais’ only option in IndyCar was to stay with AJ Foyt Racing, and a part-time deal with the team was the only possibility.

The Frenchman’s will be taking advantage of one of the few full season seats open to him and he will get paid to drive and for a team and car that can actually win races.
