NASCAR: Follow-the-leader-Heat Race sets field for Clash Main Event

• The polesitter led every lap of all four heat races to set the field for the Main event on the 1/4-mile Mickey Mouse track inside the LA Coliseum for the NASCAR Cup Busch Clash Light.

  Heat winners were the four polesitters – #22 Joey Logano, #8 Tyler Reddick, #18 Kyle Busch and #31 Justin Haley

  Heat Race 4: #22 leads to green from inside; Lap 2 #77 stuck on outside making contact with #43 and #45 trying to get to the inside falls from 6th to 9th; Lap 7 #42 7th slow on frontstretch without power; Lap 8 Restart #22 leads #2 dives low under #43 to take 4th; Lap 8 #43 bumps #2 to take back 4th; Lap 9 #45 8th gets into the back of #77 7th gets into the rear of #2 6th and turns him bringing out the caution; Lap 10 Restart #22 leads; Lap 12 #45 and #15 side by side battling for 5th; Lap 16 #2 up to 5th after spinning; Lap 25 #22 1st, #5 2nd, #34 3rd, #43 4th transfer, #2 5th first car outside the transfer position

• Heat Race 3: Lap 1 #31 leads to green from inside; Lap 3 #24 passes #9 for second; Lap 5 #9 stuck on outside falls back to 4th as #20 passes him for third; Lap 25 #31 1st, #24 2nd, #20 3rd, #9 4th transfer, AJ Allmendinger 5th first car outside the transfer position

• Heat Race 2: Lap 1 #8 leads field to green from inside #41 goes wide into turn 1 from 2nd falls back to 5th; Lap 6 #21 falls from 2nd to 5th; Lap 10 #14 bumps #23 to take 2nd; Lap 20 #41 passes #23 for 4th; Lap 25 #8 1st, #14 2nd, #3 3rd, #41 4th transfer, #23 5th first car outside the transfer position

• Heat Race 1: Lap 1 #18 leads field to green from inside lane; Lap 13 Ross Chastain 6th locks up tires entering turn 2; Lap 18 #12 bumps Denny Hamlin entering turn 3 and takes 4th place; Lap 25 #18 1st, #99 2nd, #47 3rd, #12 4th transfer Denny Hamlin 5th first car outside the transfer position
