F1: 2022 F1 car comparison

Comparing the profile of the sidepods and front wings of the Aston Martin, McLaren, AlphaTauri and Haas car.

All four teams took a different approach to the 2022 regulations with regard to front wing and sidepod design, with Aston Martin being the most radical as compared to recent thinking.  They either have come up with a masterstroke, or they totally blew it.

What cannot be seen in these top views – The sidepod radiator inlet openings on both the Aston Martin and AlphaTauri are square, contrary to recent thinking.

The front nose of the Aston Martin is notably higher than the other three as the team appears to be looking for as much undisturbed laminar air getting to the sidepod underbody as possible.
