IMSA/IndyCar: Yokohama Tire Returns as Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach Sponsor

Yokohama Tire has returned to the Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach as an Official Sponsor, officials from both organizations announced today.

Yokohama Tire Corporation is the North American manufacturing and marketing arm of Tokyo, Japan-based The Yokohama Rubber Co., Ltd. Since expanding to the United States in 1969, Yokohama has been an industry leader in tire technology and innovation across the globe. With manufacturing plants, a research & development facility and distribution centers spread across the U.S., Yokohama employs thousands of people and produces high-quality tires for its consumer and commercial divisions.

Active in motor racing, Yokohama sponsors and supplies tires for such series as Global Time Attack and Super Lap Battle, Porsche Sprint Challenge North America and Nitro Rallycross, as well as events like the Porsche Pikes Peak Trophy by Yokohama. Among their sponsored-driver roster are Travis Pastrana, Bucky Lasek and Tanner Foust.

As an Official Sponsor at the Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach, Yokohama will receive visibility on-track and on national network television with colorful signage in key locations around the world-famous, 11-turn Acura Grand Prix course.

“For the second consecutive year, Yokohama is thrilled to be partnering with the Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach, which is one of the premier motorsports events in the U.S.,” said Fardad Niknam, Yokohama Tire’s senior director of product planning and product marketing. “With its famous festive atmosphere, the Grand Prix is an excellent venue to highlight our products, which fans can learn more about at the Yokohama interactive station in the Fan Zone. As always, it’s shaping up to be another exciting weekend and we’re glad to be part of it.”

We look forward to helping Yokohama achieve its marketing goals through this sponsorship and to fostering a long-term relationship.”
