F1: Alonso only driver to miss Maimi GP Welcome Party. Is he sick?

On behalf of Alpine, Otmar Szafnauer (team principal), Laurent Rossi (CEO) and Esteban Ocon stepped onto the podium to greet fans at last night’s Miami GP Welcome Party.

The only driver not in attendance, as each team was presented and each driver said a few words, was Fernando Alonso.

Nothing was said about the absence of the Spaniard. Is it possible he has Covid?

Should Alonso not be able to compete for any reason, Alpine Reserve driver Oscar Piastri might have a chance to do so. The Australian is on the sidelines as the French racing stable’s reserve driver after his F2 title.
