Logan Seavey wins 2023 Chili Bowl

Starting from pole position, Logan Seavey has won his first career Chili Bowl Nationals held Saturday night in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

For team owner Kevin Swindell it was a return to Victory Lane 10 years later as a car owner and a car he built himself.

Tanner Thorson pressured Seavey at the front, but the Sutter, California driver never made a mistake and held on to win.

Cannon McIntosh rounded out the top-3 on the podium.

McIntosh pressured Seavey until lap 25 when Thorson passed McIntosh and set sail for Seavey.

From there until the end at lap 55, whatever groove Seavey ran, Thorson was there, but over the last 5 laps Seavey blocked the bottom lane and unless Thorson did what a NASCAR driver would have done and spun him out, there was no way Thorson could get past.

1 to go, they ran inches apart at the front as the inside lane was rubbered in well. Caution flew for the last 1/4 lap as Rico Abreu was in the turn one wall and that is the way it ended.

The event saw 8 caution flag periods for various spins and debris.
