IndyCar: Andretti Autosport Earns ISO 14001 Certification
Andretti Autosport, a global championship-caliber motorsports team led by Michael Andretti as part of the Andretti Global family of race teams, announced today that it obtained ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management certification from DQS Inc. on February 21, 2023.
ISO 14001 is a globally recognized standard for environmental management systems. It provides a framework that organizations can use to identify and manage their environmental impacts, as well as to establish goals and targets for improvement. The standard covers a range of areas, including the use of natural resources, waste management, pollution prevention and compliance with environmental regulations. By achieving ISO 14001 certification, Andretti Autosport has demonstrated its commitment to environmental sustainability and have implemented effective environmental management practices.
In support, Andretti Autosport also achieved a Silver Sustainability rating from the world’s largest provider of sustainability ratings, EcoVadis, in October 2022. The ranking places the team in the top 25% which is calculated across all companies in all industries.
The ISO 14001 certification and Silver EcoVadis rating are actionable steps for the U.S.-based team as the global racing enterprise moves toward its sustainability goals. This follows the UK-based Avalanche Andretti Formula E team’s receipt of the ISO 14001 certification in August of 2021, followed by being awarded FIA’s Three Star Environmental Accreditation, the highest level of the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile’s Environmental Accreditation program, in March 2022. Additionally, construction is underway in Fishers, Indiana, for the new Andretti Global headquarters which brings a next phase of development to the brand’s sustainability goals.
