TV News: Weekend USA Motorsports TV Viewership/Ratings (Update)

NASCAR and IndyCar TV Viewership numbers have now been added below.  While the F1 race was up big, NASCAR and IndyCar plummeted.

USA Motorsports TV viewership/TV Ratings for this past weekend.  F1 was in Imola, Italy, NASCAR was in North Wilkesboro for the All-Star Race and of course, we had the Indy 500 qualifications at the Brickyard.

Formula 1

Sunday’s Formula 1 Emilia Romagna GP at Imola won by Max Verstappen saw a massive year-over-year TV viewership gain and a record weekend in-person attendance of 242,000, dwarfing NASCAR and IndyCar.

ESPN2 got 1.1M average TV viewers up 27.8% from 861K in 2024. Over 80 million TV viewers tuned in around the world.

It was the second-largest event audience ever for that event.

The broadcast peaked at 1.2M viewers between 9:30-9:45a

421,000 TV Viewers in the all-important 18-49 year old category tuned in, dwarfing NASCAR and IndyCar…….like F1 always does.

The ESPN2 Qualifying show on Saturday drew 534K TV viewers and 217K in the all important 18-49 year old category.

FS1 got 1.965 million viewers for Sunday’s NASCAR All-Star Race at North Wilkesboro, down 23.6% from 2.573 million last year.

IndyCar

Fox TV got 924,000 viewers for Sunday’s Indy 500 qualifying, down 19.3% from 1.145 million viewers last year on NBC
