IndyCar: Kyle Moyer to Join Arrow McLaren Team

According to a report from Racer. Kyle Moyer, former Team Penske team manager, has been hired by Arrow McLaren and will begin his new duties on June 30 at the IndyCar test at Iowa Speedway.

Moyer, who had worked for Team Penske for 10 seasons, was fired after the qualifying fiasco at the Indy 500 in May, along with Time Cendric and Ron Rusewski.

Moyer has 30 years of experience in the NTT INDYCAR Series, working for various teams during his career, Andretti Global, Forsythe-Green Racing, Galles-Kraco Racing, and Bettenhausen Racing.

Moyer will work with Nolan Seigel on the No. 6 entry and will replace Tony Kanaan as Seigel’s strategist.

“Kyle is one of the best strategists in the paddock, so talking about his qualities, not just about him as a human being, he knows a lot about racing,” Kanaan told the Associated Press.  “Kyle probably is one of the top guys with knowledge of IndyCar.”

“And Kyle is a people person, he’s that kind of guy that captivates people, and people want to work for Kyle,” Kanaan continued. “The respect I have for that guy is unbelievable.”

Kanaan was shocked to learn that Moyer did not have a non-compete clause and was available and was able to join Arrow McLaren immediately.  Moyer will relocate to Indianapolis from North Carolina for his new job.
