Connor Zilisch underwent collarbone surgery Tuesday morning, the No. 88 JR Motorsports driver announced on social media.

The 19-year-old NASCAR Xfinity Series star broke his collarbone Saturday afternoon in Victory Lane at Watkins Glen International after scoring his sixth win of 2025. After climbing from the cockpit of his No. 88 Chevrolet, Zilisch slipped and fell while standing on the roof and door of his car.

Zilisch was released from the hospital the same night and missed the Cup Series race on Sunday after being scheduled to pilot the No. 87 Chevrolet for Trackhouse Racing.

Connor Zilisch (pictured) was taken to a local hospital after falling from his car in Victory Lane after winning Saturday’s NASCAR Xfinity Series race at Watkins Glen International.

Zilisch led 60 of the 82 laps in the Mission 200, registering his sixth win of the Xfinity Series season. His celebration was abbreviated as he emerged from his No. 88 JR Motorsports Chevrolet when he suddenly fell to the ground below.

He drove the car to victory lane. He climbed out as the team celebrated with cheers. However, he then placed one leg on the roof while the other was on the door and at that moment, Zilisch lost his balance.

His left leg slipped inside the car. He then fell off the car with his left leg still trapped inside the car.

The 19-year-old hit head first on the concrete. He was knocked out as he laid there motionless. Victory lane went completely silent.

The medical team rushed to his aid. Moments later, he was speaking to the medical staff.

Zilisch was placed on a stretcher and carried to the ambulance. He was seen sitting upright while inside the ambulance before they drove him to the medical center.
