F1 News: Soon to be rejected from F1, Colapinto eyes IndyCar

When you do not perform in F1, you get rejected out. Argentina driver Franco Colapinto’s (pictured) days in Formula 1 appear to be numbered because he is not producing good results.

According to Formula 1 Magazine, Colapinto’s days as an Alpine driver are numbered, with his management preparing for an exit from the pinnacle of motorsport.

Whilst Colapinto looks set to race in the Dutch Grand Prix after the summer break, it is increasingly unlikely he will be offered a seat by Alpine for 2026.

As a result, it has been reported that the Argentinian’s management team is exploring options to step down to either IndyCar or the World Endurance Championship, should Alpine end its partnership with him.

Last week at the Hungaroring, during a Pirelli tire test, he crashed at the high-speed Turn 11, with images having shown a wrecked car.

The crash ruined Pirelli’s tire test and they were none too happy.

IndyCar had a desire to race in Argentina, and if they still do, Colapinto might fit into their future plans.
